SolarEdge's Smart Modules
SolarEdge Solar Panels, What makes them so special?
-
1. Integrated Power Optimisers
SolarEdge smart solar modules, unlike usual Solar Panels, are integrated with power optimisers. By combining SolarEdge’s leading DC optimisation technology with a panel itself, each module is guaranteed greater performance straight out of the box.
The integrated optimisers modulate the performance of each panel, to help combat solar panel shading, and any differences in orientation, to ensure a quicker return on investment. They also facilitate individual panel monitoring, allowing for easier servicing.

1. An All-in-one solution
The main selling point of the SolarEdge panel is the integrated DC power optimisers. Although you can still have SolarEdge’s power optimises installed onto any regular solar panel, the SolarEdge Smart Module is an integrated all-in-one solution. This makes for a more cost-effective solution and for faster installations. Removing the need to install a device on each panel and map the modules individually to the monitoring platform.

2. All Black Panel
SolarEdge’s Smart Modules are a Premium PV module guaranteed to help boost performance and aesthetics. As a smart, all-black monocrystalline panel, the SolarEdge smart module certainly has improved curb appeal. The SolarEdge panel comes in a variety of wattages, from 345W to 375W. Whilst perhaps not the largest of panels, they are certainly the most optimised. The 360W SolarEdge panel in particular, which are part of our SolarEdge PV Package, certainly looks the part.

5. Future Proof
The SolarEdge Panel allows for easy upgrades to battery storage and smart energy solutions for a truly future-proofing system.
How Much Do SolarEdge Panels Cost
As a premium solar panel, the SolarEdge Smart Panel module does come with a premium price tag. Whereas a standard solar panel would cost around £130, the SolarEdge Smart Module has a market price of around £180. Which make sense as the SolarEdge power optimisers have a £50 price point of their own. The main price difference in price is in the inverter. If you are looking to install the SolarEdge Smart Panel you will also require a SolarEdge inverter. Whereas a standard inverter can cost between £300-£400, a SolarEdge inverter costs nearly double at £800. Nevertheless, we all know that the inverter is the brain behind every solar panel system, and the advantages of panel-level optimisation and performance monitoring you gain with a SolarEdge inverter.
So, Should I Buy SolarEdge Solar Panels?
The SolarEdge Smart Modules ticks a lot of boxes. Although they look to be an expensive option they are a premium product with a lot of benefits and one of the best solar panels currently on the UK market.
Not only a smart panel, but a smart looking panel, the SolarEdge panel makes sense for homeowners who were already considering a SolarEdge PV System due to shading. SolarEdge’s integrated power optimisers and half-cut cell technology increases power from each module and as well as providing maximum protection. So if you are looking to maximise your green investment look no further than SolarEdge.
