Thanks to Deege Solar, English-Australian singer Peter Andre was able to make green modifications to his Sussex Home using solar. His mansion, worth upwards of £1m, was fitted with solar panels that help the property produce cheaper, cleaner and renewable energy.

A national treasure, singer-songwriter Adele made green refurbishments to her Brighton home back in 2012. The beachside pad situated on ‘Millionaire’s Row’ converted to solar power via PV panels installed on the roof. Adele’s property is one of the most eco-friendly in the area.

Nicknamed “Best-Dressed Environmentalist”, this Bond Star is a well known active environmentalist. Being inducted into the National Environmental hall of Frame for his For his sustainability efforts.
By installing an array of solar panels on his Malibu villa, he has impressively helped reduce his annual power bill to $300! As well as continuing his support of sustainability.
5. Orlando Bloom
English actor Orlando Bloom, best known for his roles in movie franchises including the Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, is no stranger to green living. When developing his London pad over a decade ago, the actor budgeted to conform to eco-friendly features that included solar PV panels and energy efficient lightbulbs.
In Bloom’s own words: “It might not be possible for everyone to live a completely green lifestyle, but we can do little things to help slow global warming”.
6. Jamie Oliver
Globally recognised TV chef Jamie Oliver is a well-known health and environmental campaigner. Famous for his Naked Chef BBC series, Jamie Oliver lived in the property while filming in 1999. The property was known for its green features including power generated from solar panels and wind turbines.
The chef is also famous for creating arguably the world’s first carbon-neutral TV travel series. Jamie’s American Road trip successfully offset the CO2 generated by the production as he travelled across the US; an estimated 242.6 tonnes of carbon emissions were offset.
7. Harry Redknapp
Former football boss Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra went green and built their very own solar-powered eco-mansion.
Using state-of-the-art technology, their five-bedroom mansion in Poole, Dorset, includes high-tech solar panels (with some also installed in the windows) and a water-saving system. Energy efficient lighting and other appliances are also part of the package to reduce this celebrity’s carbon footprint and energy bills by around £340 per year.
8. Prince Charles of the Royal Family
The Royal Family’s estates are not known for their sustainability. In fact, estimates state that the royals spend around £3m on bills a year for their properties.
However, devout environment campaigner Prince Charles, has solar panels installed at Clarence House. Low-energy light bulbs were also installed to improve the energy efficiency at his properties.
9. Lily Alen
“It’s great to be green”, says English singer, songwriter and author Lily Allen. Allen has supported efforts for eco-friendly recording by using a solar-powered studio in east London.
Of the two recording studios on the site, one is fully solar-powered and built using a high level of recycled materials. Showcasing further her environmental efforts, Allen has also joined Friends of the Earth and the Renewable Energy Association.
